I can guarantee that my take on Hong Kong will be very different from what you might hear from what is euphemistically called a local person, I love Hong Kong, it is my home and with 53 years living here you can be sure of some very interesting stories, through my own experiences I have found that many tour guides in Hong Kong get critical facts and figures wrong but more importantly they have a pure vanilla script that they work to and in general will never say anything remotely controversial and avoid many subjects either because it makes them uncomfortable or the knowledge is somewhat shallow.

I have a hard hitting “blog” which I take very seriously, I was an active blogger when I was operating J3 Private Tours and I am continuing that tradition with J3 Consultants, I have always found that people are really interested in Hong Kong and yet they go away with a feeling that they do not understand Hong Kong at all, I hope to change that.

Hong Kong is unique with a fabulous history and recent | current events have been very much distorted for example in the Foreign Press (for geopolitical reasons), reality in Hong Kong is quite different to what you might be reading about.

For those people that are curious I offer a different experience that will certainly get you thinking and you will get 2 sides of the story so to speak.

• please be reminded that I will do my utmost to try and fit you in if my schedule is busy!

• Reminder - my Experience | Tour calendar above is updated daily and is 100% accurate as of 8am daily Hong Kong time, as I am generally out during the day I cannot update my calendar to show any bookings received after 8am until after I get back

• When checking my availability please note it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to answer the phone when I am with my guests or otherwise engaged, also note that I cannot answer emails or messages when I am with guests, my focus is on the project I am busy with on the day.

Please note that there is NO difference in pricing between a Private, Standard, Popular, Themed or Custom Private Tour

The tout | experience fee is the TOTAL fee in US$ - see my notes below regarding transports costs, food and such.

Price List Notes

• If you book an Experience then you are booking an Experience with me, Jamie thus ensuring you get the best quality Experience, I have lived in Hong Kong for 53 years, I am passionate about Hong Kong and can be quite blunt

• Although I prefer to limit the tour | experience to 4 guests, additional guests add US$70 per person, maximum 6 people

• The experience fee is the TOTAL experience fee

• Please note the Price List above is in United States Dollars - US$

• Please do read my terms and conditions aka. the small print, they are simple and straight forward.

• My fee is payable in cash, you can pay in either HK$ or US$, whatever is convenient for you, the exchange rate is US$1 = HK$7.80

• I can also accept payment in other currencies but subject to my confirmation in advance of the experience

• I do not require a deposit before the day of the tour | experience, we will settle up in cash on the day.

• The cost of any transport such as Taxi's, Buses, Mini Buses, Ferries, Trams, The Peak Tram, The MTR (Subway), The Airport Express Train, NP 360 Lantau Cable Car etc. - in other words, transport costs are your responsibility. - sometimes in the interests of time I will suggest taking a Taxi rather than other means of transport, I will always give you the option as a Taxi will be more expensive.

• Meals / Drinks / Snacks / Souvenirs etc.

• Please note - I pay my own transport costs

I need you to be very clear about these additional costs so there are no surprises on the day, I have always been upfront about these Transport Costs and Miscellaneous Expenditures - Transport costs are on the whole very affordable when compared to most major world cities and that includes taxis.

You will need HK$ cash for your tour | experience as we will need this for transport, minor purchases etc. Most shops and restaurants will accept credit cards but if we go off the beaten track cash is needed as many food stalls and market stalls work on a cash basis only. As a guide HK$400 - HK$500 cash per person should cover most eventualities and it is better to purchase an Octopus Card™ for transport rather than use cash.
